1920′s – The First Thing That Resembled A Skateboard

In the 1920′s they made these three wheeled stamped metal devices with pedal car like wheels. Usually sold in pairs with a pair of poles to mimic cross country skiing. They feature a heel cup and some kind of adjustable metal toe clip deal. This thing had no way of steering so it looked like a hill bomber. Not sure how the poles played into the whole deal but they probably sucked for brakes. As far as we can tell this is basically the first skateboard.
