Adio and Southshore Distribution’s 10 th Annual Texas Skate Jam Presented by Zumiez Raises Over ,000 For Make-A-Wish Foundation

SouthSide Skatepark, Houston, TX (November 8, 2006) Adio Footwear and SouthShore Distribution held the 10th annual Texas Skate Jam benefiting the Make- AWish Foundation on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at SouthSide Skatepark in Houston, TX. With over 50 top skateboard pros and 700 guests in attendance, the Texas Skate Jam raised in excess of 1,000.

Skateboarders in attendence included: Kenny Anderson, Mike Peterson, Jamie Thomas, Steve Nesser, Colt Cannon, Torey Pudwell, Jon Allie, Alex Olsen, Chad Knight, Kris Markovich, Danny Montoya, Adrian Lopez, Brian Sumner, Peter Ramondetta, Karma Toscheff, Rob Gonzalez, Ernie Torres, Adam Alfaro and Nick Dompierre among others. The family-friendly event, hosted by Brian Schaefer and Ryan Clemens of Spotlight Productions, featured Best Street Trick, Best Bowlrider, and Zumiez’ Best “Couch” Trick contests, a booth village with the Spitfire Mechanical Bull, product auctions and the “Biggest Product Toss Ever.”

Kenny Anderson won the Best Street Trick contest, Chad Knight won the Best Bowlrider award, and Torey Pudwell won the Zumiez Best “Couch” Trick contest. Overall awards were presented to Mike Petersen (Best Pro Performance), Alex Olsen (Best Am Performance) and Crimson Skateboards (Best Team Performance).

One highlight of the event was the presentation of a ,800 check from 2005 Texas Skate Jam Wish Kid Johnny Romano to the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s founder, Tommy Austin. Johnny chose to donate his royalty payment from the Real Skateboards Johnny Romano limited edition pro model skateboard.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life- threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. The Texas Skate Jam raised over 0,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation since its inception in 1996.
